Rural Property Revisioning

This historic family farm in Delaware was conventionally farmed in soybeans and corn for many decades.  Integrity supported the family in their revisioning process by providing assistance with techniques to rebuild the soil, with outlining a new cut-flower production area and by identifying resources to support their new business plan.

Cut-flower farm land planning can include both annual and perennial plants! Integrity provided support for this Delaware farm to apply for the USDA Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), a long-term program that pays farmers to remove environmentally-sensitive land from agricultural production.  This cost-share program pays rural land owners to plant native pollinator plants in areas that have been conventionally cropped.  The newly-established CRP areas not only reduce sediment runoff, rebuild soil and restore important pollinator populations, they are aesthetically beautiful and provide financial stability to the owners. 

The revisioning process often includes identifying and evaluating existing farm structures. This beautiful antique barn is still used for livestock, and the only current plan is to maintain it structurally. 

This central Ohio family farm raises Hampshire hogs without the use of chemicals, hormones or antibiotics. Much of the revisioning process for this farm has focused on rebranding and refocusing their business plan.
